Welcome to BRCare Connect CIC.
Living with a BRCA+ gene mutation can raise questions you never expected to be asking. Whether you've just received your genetic test results, have a strong family history of cancer, are considering risk reducing surgery, or are supporting someone you love, it can feel overwhelming.
I know that feeling because I've been there myself.
After my own BRCA1 diagnosis, I realised how difficult it could be to find clear information, speak to people who truly understood, and feel less alone. That's why I founded BRCare Connect CIC.
Our aim is simple. To make sure nobody has to face a BRCA+ journey on their own.
We bring people together through welcoming BRCafè support sessions, community events, awareness activities and practical education, all delivered in plain English. We don't replace medical advice, but we help people understand their options, ask informed questions and connect with others who genuinely understand what they're going through.
Whether you're looking for information, reassurance, or simply someone who "gets it", you'll always find a warm welcome here.
A BRCA+ diagnosis, or even the possibility of one, can bring a lot of questions. Medical appointments, unfamiliar terminology and difficult decisions can quickly become overwhelming.
BRCare Connect CIC exists to make those conversations a little easier.
We explain BRCA+ and inherited cancer risk in plain English, helping people understand the information they're being given and feel more confident asking questions of their healthcare team. Alongside practical information, we offer opportunities to connect with others who have walked a similar path, because sometimes knowing you're not the only one can make all the difference.
We can't take the decisions away, but we can help make them feel a little less daunting.
There are lots of places where you can read about BRCA+. We want to be the place that helps it all make sense.
We know that everyone’s journey is different. Some people are waiting for genetic testing, others are making decisions about surgery, some are supporting a family member, and many simply want to understand what BRCA+ means for them and those they love.
That's why we focus on providing clear, easy to understand information, opportunities to meet others with shared experiences, and a welcoming community where no question feels too small. We believe that when people feel informed and connected, they feel better equipped to take the next step, whatever that may be.
